Drive from Siem Reap to the Thai border (4 images) Our journey from Cambodia to Bangkok was interesting. First we took a taxi from Siem Reap to the Thai border. Our driver was a maniac who drove very fast on the mostly unpaved road. We made it to the border in record time of 2 hours 45 minutes. We then walked across the border, took a tuk-tuk (three-wheel motorcycle-based open-air taxi) from the border to Aranyaprathet, Thailand, and then took a bus from there to Bangkok. The difference between Cambodia and Thailand is striking. As soon as we crossed the border, the road changed from a bumpy dirt road to a smoothly paved, multilane highway.
